Ugh. I absolutely hate when people do that. Especially when they have a door. Newsflash to them…not impressed with your "important" discussion or voicemail…close the door or pick up the phone.
I totally agree. There are only two circumstances in which having the speaker phone on speaker is ok, when there’s more than one person in the room or when you’re stuck on hold for three hours and in both those cases only, ONLY, when you’re in a room with the door closed. My pet peeve on this is the way that everyone else in my office insists in listened to their voicemail on speaker.
