I just got off the phone with my OB’s nurse with the results of my Glucose Screening Test. Apparently my levels were a little outside of the normal range so I have to back in and take the dreaded 3-hour test. Urghhh. But I don’t wanna!!

I’m so sorry, honey. Did you eat breakfast before you went to the test? One of my friends who has a baby said that her doctor told her she could eat whatever she wanted for breakfast before her 1-hour test. She ate her usual, a bagel with cream cheese and jam. Sure enough her number was a little high and had to do the 3-hour which turned out fine. She is convinced it was the bagel with jam. Do they make you fast before the next test?
Oh dear…that sucks…
I had the 3 hour test during some infertility testing and let me tell you…it really really really bites. I’m sorry. I probably shouldn’t tell you. On the bright side, it’s only 3 hours and 4 blood draws and you’re outta there. You might want to make sure you have a ride home afterward. I was unable to function until I got something to eat, and I wasn’t even pregnant at the time. It’s probably nothing.
We will keep you in our prayers!
It’s not any worse than the 1 hour test. And it doesn’t mean you’re diabetic! I had to do it with Gabey. OB nurses just like to enhance the prenatal paranoia many of us experience….
that’s a bummer that you have to take the test, but i’m sure everything will turn out a-ok! maybe you and the baby just run on the sweet side….sorry, bad pun. it’s the end of the day 🙂
