Highlights

Unfortunately, just the highlights of the weekend, not in my hair or anything exciting like that (hmmm….I wonder how those would look on me anyway?):

…I was thoroughly entertained when Heather (who came down over the weekend) was changing Miss Lindsay’s diaper. Well Lindsay is at that lovely age where she likes to test her boundaries. (And does she!) Heather kept saying things like, “Be still” or “Don’t kick Mommy” and Lindsay would just laugh with glee. Then Heather would say, “I mean it” To which Lindsay would reply, “Meeeean.” in the most serious yet sarcastic voice a 15-month old can muster.

…Simeon and I were able to test our kidnapping abilities on our friend Erin when she resisted our pleading to go to breakfast with us after Pilates class (I even said she could eat something low-carb, not the pancakes Simeon would have forced her to eat!). Sim slyly whispered, “start the car” just before he tossed Erin over his shoulder and dragged her to our car. He even managed to flip the child-locks on the car door before she realized what happened. She sat laughing hysterically, still dazed, in the back seat as we drove off and made her accompany us at Elmer’s. Needless to say she did not eat any pancakes….but Sim did!

…I finally got caught up on all the laundry that was mounting in my bedroom. I great feet considering Simeon spills on things faster than I can wash them. And with our regular visits to the gym, the number of smelly clothes and damp towels has been mounting steeply! In fact the dogs have been eyeing the laundry baskets willing things to spill over the edge so they can rub and roll all over them.

…um yeah. And I think thats about it. Nothing too exciting. Sorry. And I didn’t even take a single picture. Bad Carrie!!

Hello there my dears!

Did you miss me? I know I haven’t been around here much and I have been on other people’s blogs even less. Urgh. This time of year is super hectic at work and when I get home after working out I can barely manage to feed myself, let alone think of anything witty to say. But I swear I have been thinking about you all every day! If only April 15th would just hurry up and get here already!!

Whew. So a lot has been going on since I last blogged. Oh God it’s been over a week already! Jeez, time does fly! The most memorable things over the last week have been the exorbitant amount of babies I have been around. (Keep in mind when I say babies, this is a broad term. It contains any lovely children from birth to oh, I don’t know, ten.) Wanna see?

Beach Birthday Formula

What is the key to having a fabulous weekend at the beach while celebrating your brother-in-laws 21st birthday? It’s simple really:

FAMILY +

Blog-o-versary

Happy Anniversary!!

March 15, 2004 was officially the day I started blogging. I can’t even believe it’s been a year already. I feel like I haven’t really done much in the last year, but because of this very blog, I am able to go back and actually see all the things I have done. And the beauty of it is, so can you! So go ahead. Pull up a chair, dust off your monitor, and take a trip down memory lane.

And since I always feel better after a little freshening up, I thought why not throw in a new look to top things off? Make it all shiny and new again. You likey?

Weekend Pictoral Recap

Seattle was great. Vacations are fabulous. Friends make everything better. And I am relying on the old “a picture is worth a thousand words” expression to say the rest. Good-night all!

Happy Birthday Ellie!

Today my little girl turns 4.
It’s hard to imagine that Simeon and I have had her for that long. It seems like just yesterday we picked her out of the litter of eleven. She was special from the very beginning. The way she waddled across the floor to lick Simeon’s foot. We knew she was the one for us.

Relief

My hands are still shaking, there are still butterflies in my tummy, and I am a little nauseous….But I

PASSED MY TEST!!!!

Oh I am so excited! Not only because I now have the state license to accompany my previous federal one (’cause one is not good without the other!) but because I can now read for fun, I can watch TV without guilt, and I can have fun again! I don’t have to spend anymore countless hours studying! I am FREE!

Well until I decide to get my Insurance license anyway….

Today is a new day

Today is a new day, with a new mantra:

Today will be a good day. Today will be a good day. Today will be a GOOD day.

And why is that you ask?

  • Sim had his doctor appointment yesterday and he is not dying!! He doesn’t even have Hepatitis! Wahoo!
  • I scheduled my Series 63 exam for Monday. So what if it is in Milwaukie? At least I don’t have to take it on Friday!
  • I lost 5 pounds!
  • Proactive is finally working! In fact, I am not even wearing concealer today!
  • It’s Pink Shoe Day again!
  • It is finally “Hump Day!” Bring on the weekend already!
  • And who doesn’t like a day that starts with a list?!?

Have a great Wednesday everyone! I know I will!

(P.S. I will get into more detail about yesterday later. Right now I don’t have that much time….and its a looooong story. But rest assure, everything turned out ok! Thanks for all the concern!)

A Trip to the Beach

How do you get rid of the worries of a long stressful week? Take a day trip to the beach! Especially since I couldn’t bare to waste this beautiful sunny weather we have been having in February. So Simeon and I packed up the truck and put the pups in the cab:
